Suffolk and Norfolk Regional Contingent

Unit 18

The Regional Contingent comprises of 18 Scouts/Explorers from  Norfolk and 18 Scouts/Explorers from Suffolk to form a full contingent. A contingent is made up of 36 young people and 4 leaders. The 36 will form 4 patrols.

The 24th World Scout Jamboree will held in West Virginia, USA, and will be an adventure beyond anything you can imagine. It is to be hosted jointly between Boy Scouts of America, Scouts Canada and the Scout Association of Mexico.

Participants must be born between 22 July 2001 and 21 July 2005. There will be absolutely no exceptions to this rule.

When and where?

The Jamboree will take place on 22nd July – 2nd August 2019 at The Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve in West Virginia, USA.

The World Scout Jamboree is the best of Scouting rolled into 12 days of fun, friends, and adventure, and you don’t want to miss it!

So what is the World Scout Jamboree?

It is held every four years, it has brought Scouts together for more than 75 years.  This will be the 24th World Scout Jamboree.

There will be about 50,000 Scouts and Leaders from all over the world who will explore all kinds of adventures at one of the world’s premier high-adventure bases.
